Reimbursement Accounts
Health Savings Plan
51¶¯Âþ offers enrollment in an HSA plan only if you have the high deductible medical plan (HDHP) through Aetna. It is a health savings retirement plan with the option to invest your funds after a $2,000 balance. The balance stays with you in your account whether you switch back to a non-HSA-eligible plan or leave employment. This plan can be used for medical expenses and other items found on the IRS list of eligible expenses. A debit card is issued with enrollment.
51¶¯Âþ will contribute the following each plan year:
- Individual - $700 contribution with first half in June and second half in December (whole balance added for 2024 only)
- Individual + one or more family member(s) - $1,400 with first half in June and second half in December (whole balance added for 2024 only)
You may contribute pre-tax payroll contributions up to the IRS calendar year limit including 51¶¯Âþ's contributions. Employees 55 years old and older can contribute an extra $1,000. Reminder: You're enrolled only if enrolling in the HDHP medical plan.
If you are currently enrolled in a medical FSA plan, the HSA may not begin until all FSA funds are spent. The IRS does not allow both plans to run at the same time.
Health Reimbursement Arrangement
51¶¯Âþ provides a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to employees enrolled in the Aetna Choice POS II PPO medical plan. The HRA is funded entirely by 51¶¯Âþ and administered through HealthEquity to help offset eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
51¶¯Âþ's Annual Contribution
| Coverage Level | Annual Contribution | Maximum Annual Rollover | Maximum Account Balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee Only | $1,000 | $1,000 | $2,000 |
| Employee + family | $2,000 | $2,000 | $4,000 |
Eligible Expenses
HRA funds may be used for qualified expenses, including:
- Medical deductibles, coinsurance and copays under the 51¶¯Âþ medical plan
- Prescription drug expenses
- Dental expenses
- Vision expenses
Unused HRA funds automatically roll over each plan year, up to the maximum rollover amount shown above. Your total HRA balance may not exceed $2,000 for employee-only coverage or $4,000 for employee plus dependent coverage.
To receive reimbursement, submit your eligible claims through HealthEquity.
Flexible Spending Account
51¶¯Âþ offers two Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), administered through HealthEquity, to help employees save on eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses by using pre-tax dollars. If you have predictable out-of-pocket expenses during the year, an FSA can reduce your taxable income and lower the amount of taxes you pay.
51¶¯Âþ offers the following FSA options:
- Healthcare FSA – Use for eligible medical, prescription, dental and vision expenses. Employees may contribute up to $3,400 annually.
- Dependent Day Care FSA – Use for eligible dependent care expenses that allow you (and your spouse, if applicable) to work or attend school full-time. Employees may contribute up to $7,500 per household (married filing jointly or single).
Both FSAs include a grace period, allowing additional time after the end of the plan year to incur eligible expenses, as outlined in the plan.
If you are enrolled in both the 51¶¯Âþ HRA and a Healthcare FSA: Eligible claims submitted to HealthEquity are processed through your HRA first. Once your HRA funds are exhausted, eligible expenses are automatically applied to your Healthcare FSA. If you choose to use your Healthcare FSA debit card, purchases are deducted directly from your FSA balance.
